The weekly collection days for Solid Waste customers for garbage, recycling and composting will be changing effective November 7.
We call this rebalancing. How will you be affected?
There will be no change to the Services Solid Waste provides. Your service will improve and be more efficient. The new routes for the collection trucks will be shorter and can be completed more quickly. Saturday service will be discontinued – no large trucks at 7:00 am. The main benefit is cost savings. The Department should realize a reduction in overtime costs and truck expenses. Because of this rebalance initiative, we can avoid any increase to the monthly collection fee for FY 2023, despite inflation and high fuel costs.

Recycling at Fiesta
Recycling at Fiesta
The Solid Waste Management Department will have four recycling stations along the parade routes of Battle of the Flowers and Fiesta Flambeau. Come and get a collection bag, fill it with bottles and cans, bring it back full and get our beautiful Fiesta medal. Look for our recycling stations at:
- Crockett Park
- Madison Square Park
- Providence High School
- Alamo Plaza
