Apply

Applications close March 15, 2023. DEADLINE EXTENDED

How to prepare:

  • Following are the questions to answer on the application. Make sure you have taken the time to fully determine the details of your project.
  • Read both the eligibility and project tier information at this site.
  • If a school already has a sustainability program or project, the grant application must state how the funds will improve, enhance and expand the existing project. The funds cannot be used to just support or maintain it. Schools are allowed to submit more than one project. Each project requires a separate application.
  • For questions, email us directly at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  1. What exactly is the project? Describe the project’s specifications, scope, location, function and all other helpful details you would like the application review committee to know.
  2. What tier level are you applying for? Please revisit eco-scholars for the judging criteria.
  3. How will the project affect climate change and sustainability? Outline for the committee how you plan to measure the benefits of the project. State the projected goal or target for those results.
  4. Specifically, which one(s) of the CAAP mitigation goals will the project most align with and how/why?
  5. Who will be doing the work? The expectation is that the students will comprise the majority of the team, but if other or outside resources are needed, what types of companies, artisans, suppliers, or consultants would be engaged?
  6. Please give a high-level summary of the anticipated resources needed to get started with a general estimate of the related expenses.
  7. If the project’s actual expenses are less than the total amount of the grant, how would the school use the remainder of the funds? Please revisit eco-scholars to review the approved and non-approved categories and activities.
  8. I certify that the school Principal as named above has approved this application.
